Nadesco, The Prince of Darkness

Post by J-0080 » Sun Nov 16, 2003 9:55 pm

Well, my pre-order from Amazon arrived yesterday but I didn't get a chance to watch it till today.

Overall, I thought it was pretty cool. The action scenes were great, especially the one at the beginning. The VA who did Ruri's voice in the show didn't do it for the movie :( but the person they got did a very good job of portraing the character non-the-less.

Really the only part that I didn't quite like was:
spoiler wrote:How the ending seemed rather anti-clamactic, they get to Mars and win by hacking into their computer systems, we only get to see the new Nadesico C fire one shot.

Also what happened to Akito seemed somewhat out-of-place in the shows normally cheerful demeanor. Finding out that he can't cook anymore, due to losing his taste was like watdching Gay get shot all over again.
To watch this you definetly need to of seen the show, otherwise you won't really know what the heck is going on.

I have yet to see the dubbed version so I cant comment on it but this is what I have to say about the movie.

Over all I like the movie, it really solves alot of the problems I had with the ending of series. The only problem is it leaves all new problems at the end. Also they never did clerify one thing from the series:
Nadesico Spoiler wrote:They never really said what the message was on the card that was given to Inez. You know that was given to her by her past self and was a message from the Martians.

The reason the movie doesn't connect well to the series is that there were a couple videogames in Japan that told the plot between them.

Yeah, it's sad about Akito, though. Watch the Gekiganger special as it happens after the movie.
