Onegai Teacher manga
I just finished reading volume 2 and was shocked to find that IT'S THE LAST VOLUME!

It's got less filler (which I didn't think possible). But both the manga and the animé end with the same events, more or less (Episode 12 coincides with the last chapter or two of the manga, another reason I never count Episode 13 for anything).Zarxrax wrote:O_O
So... that mean its shorter than the TV series?
I was at the local Borders two days ago, and another Onegai Teacher book was on the shelves... this one was like "The Mizuho/Kei Diaries" or some such. Mostly just plain text. Be warned, it's got lemon content near the end (no, I did not read all of it, just enough to realize what it was).

Re: Onegai Teacher manga
In essence if you think about it 2 volumes is about right for almost any manga.Garylisk wrote:I just finished reading volume 2 and was shocked to find that IT'S THE LAST VOLUME!

Ex. if you cut out all the filler and non-esscencial fights from the Love Hina manga(14vol) it compresses down to about 2-4 vol of pure plot and character development. This can be said about almost all mangas, and sometimes even anime. However there are sometimes exceptions.
But in that respect i must say that some filler or non-plot driven events are often needed, but not in excess.
They give the reader/viewer to relax from the plot of the story and just have fun with it. Honestly it is sometimes the filler that helps us to like an anime more. Like the ever so infamous "Hot Springs" episodes found in so many animes and mangas.
Things like filler allow us to catch our breath and get ready for the next plot twist or major development.
So in general to wrap this up, Filler is needed, but not in excess or it begins to destract from the anime/manga.

2 volumes was fine by me. I liked it a lot. Ahem...diaries...lemon? ::cringes:: Oh dear. I did not know of this. Not that I have a problem with it...it just seems weird.
