Fav and least fav Openings

I have to agree with EVA, Read or Dream, and Boogiepop Phantom. I'd also like to add Neo Ranga to that list. The opening song is very cool. It actually sounds like some sort of tribal chant in parts, and it's really quite unique. (Although it doesn't actually get played 'til episode 5)

Can't think of any that I really disliked offhand.

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu (One of the best *ever*, I think)
Himiko-den (Pure Snow is a *beautiful* song)
Record of Lodoss War TV (So is Kiseki no Umi)
Third Rayearth (Hikari to Kage wo dakishimete mama)
Angelic Layer (Happy song, excellent images)
Utena (Great images, catchy song)
Slayers Next (One of Megumi's best songs ever)
Oh! My Goddess (First MP3 I ever had, back in 1998)
Crest of the Stars (Instrumental, so you're focusing on the gorgeous images)
Escaflowne (The first OP I started to memorize from watching it so often)
Azumanga (Soramimi CAKE. Too much fun to not sing along to)

Neia_7 (*UGH*)
Lain (Heard the song *way* too often)

Mahoromatic (SD, catchy song. Who can ask for more?)
Sorceror Hunters (Mask is just an excellent song, more than makes up for the boring images)
Devil Hunter Yohko 2 (If only for the line "Kick him in the crotch!")
Scryed (Gorgeous song, excellent imagery)
Princess Rouge (Seeing the trailer set to this song made me buy the show as my first DVD ever)

Naruto (I *hate* this song)
Second Rayearth (Something always felt... off seeing this ending)
X TV (Slow, boring images, with a slow, boring song)
Battle Athletes Victory (This song is just horrible)
Evangelion (I've hated Fly Me to the Moon since before seeing Eva. Still don't like it)

The opening to the dub of Dragonball sucks donkey testicles, especially the song. The series itself is surprisingly good and is certainly better than DBZ. Gasaraki has excellent openings/endings (they have more than one variety). The ending to Vandread is very good. Utena is another one with a great opening.

I really like the opening to BGC 2040, the ending to Yu Yu Hakusho, the ending to X, and the opening to Record of Lodoss War.
I hate the opening/ending to DBZ, Twin Signal, Beyblade, and Yuna.

I have to agree, the Read or Die opening along with the closing for .hack//SIGN were both awesome.

One thing that I find that really helps an opening or closing is new footage to use as scenes. It gets really boring when all they use is clips from the show itself. ...I'm looking mainly at the dubs for this one. lol

It must be for this reason that I dislike many of the dubbed opening on television these days. It's almost random scenes mixed to music. It looses it's charm very quickly.

Pnayo Panyo DiGi Charats opening rocks..............

what else, yeah, the closing tune to hellsing Shine, that tune just goes so well to the series.

The opening to Escaflowne (no need to promise???), really catchy
Evangelions opening...as someone else said earlier, really set the mood

Blue Genders closing Tune (i actually prefer the english version over the japanese) also quite liked the intro tune

No one mention FLCL, how can no one mention Ride on Shooting Star.. thats just crazy, its quite possibly the best song ever put into an anime's open/closing credits....

Argh, almost forgot dragon halfs ending!!! Thank you Beethoven!!!!!
