i have seen over the past year or so that the expectations people have for an AMV are getting far to high for me from when i first started. i have yet to make a single video in the past 14 months. i have next to no time and again, the whole expectation aspect of it all.

Do what you feel is right, no matter how long it takes you.

Look I make crappy amv's.. but I still have a few people who like them.

I was watching my first video's star rating change and with a little bit of math I realized that at least one person gave it a five so someone enjoyed it. I only spent two days on that vid -_-;;

Anyways the point is exactly what Nemoxs said. Do it the way you think it should be.

Personally I say f*** what others think. Do it for yourself if you can find the time and motivation.

*sigh* im not going by ratings and all that junk, the expectations im talking about is the expectations i feel i should set for others to enjoy. sure, i enjoy making AMV's but what good is it if no one else enjoys the art of it all. i also belive in the "fuck what others think" rule but its just a little habit i have ^_^

no no, I didnt say "fuck what others think", I ment take into consideration what others think, and do what you feel is right in the long run. case in point,

I'm making a video right now, and I have a scene that involves my using special effects to select a bird, 3 people liked it, 3 people didnt, thats when you gotta remember you have your own mind, and you need to split the idea up to see what ultimatly is your vision.
