I know 720x360 isn't exactly 16:9 for the PC, that's why the image is a tad 'fat', it's only at the true aspect ratio in the third image.

You don't have to "stretch" (we term it "interpolate") the stream to fit. Aside from interpolation (guessing the lines) and letterboxing (showing it all), there are a variety of dynamic zoom options availible. One involves cropping the sides of the image, the other assumies it's a bogus-widescreen 4:3 and throws out vertical lines (as opposed to stretching horizontals) which has the same effect, except you get to lose data.
The cropping at the sides and line dropping can be combined and customized. If you don't want to throw out the left and right 7.8%, you can have it all cropped from the left or vice versa.

That said, the only decent options are letterbox (best), pan/scan, zoom and crop. Deleting the lines looks just too nasty.
