Holy crap, it's a clean HD encode. I'd complain about it not being 720p but my fuckin monitor isn't 1280 pixels wide.

Yup, it is actually 720x480...

The weird thing is, I fired up google, searching '960x540 DVD' and came up with a lot of relevant hits. Some DVDs encoded at that resolution, as well as menus... Hrm, I wonder if that's actually a compatable resolution for console players.
