Yoou certainly are misinformed. If you are talking about the leaked version of the game that was about a half a year ago, that was obviously unoptimized and hence the shitty performance.

Carmack has even tested the game on stuff like a Geforce3 and it works just fine. Do you seriously think id software (debateably the best game programmers in the entire world) wouldn't know how to make a game play better than 1 fps on the best computer system available. They're obviously making the game so that just about anyone with a decent computer can play it.

Anything else would be a retarded business venture and I seriously doubt id is that stupid.

No, actually, when I played the alpha leak of D3, I got 1 fps with my old Geforce 2 MX card, so I'd get around 25fps with the retail (optmized) version, at least

hl2 was LEAKED.

The source code for it was stolen/leaked by devs and it was compiled and put on the INTARWEB

cracking is the term hackers use for illlegal hacking.

and yeah....the developers would want to leak it. your proof?
