Post by YanValentine1786 » Mon Nov 10, 2003 9:21 pm

ok, so heres the thing. i have not seen eva. *gasp* i know....

anyway, is it worth it? im taking a vote. if momre people say yes than no, then i will.

im not a psycho so if it isnt appealing to a reletively normal anime lover i wont like it...

yes i recomend watchign Eva. THough there are generaly two post evva camps. the "OMG WTF EVA IS TEH SHIT" camp and the "OMG WTF EVA IS SHIT" camp ... theres talk of a rare "I thougth eva was cool" camp ... but most people either obsessvly hate or love it.

but seriously, it's among my favorites, it's got a good story, and good character development, and great art. THough Shinji is a wimp.

It is certainly appealing to a general anime lover!

It's right up there with Cowboy Bebop for most widely appreciated anime series amoung semi-serious, casual, and serious fans.

If there's anything in the universe that is worth it, Evangelion is the ticket. It's my favorite, since it happens to have all of the things I want in a series, but outside of my personal prefference it is still a superb & genius show. Great, deep, well developed characters. Very thought out, story and plot, excruciatingly intricate, but not like Lain where you have to pay close attention or you won't get anything, you can have a pretty ample grasp of the series even if you don't pay attention to the details. << That statement does not count for the series' Endings, but that's a different story. Also great theme & music, not to mention seiyuu, though I fear you will be watching it in English; I don't know the English voice actors but I've heard they're good enough.

I'll put it this way, if you like anime to spell everything out for you then you'll more than likely wont enjoy it towards the end. This is not an anime where everything is given to you. You have to actually think about it for it to make sense most of the time. Personally I love it for this reason. I hate animes that just tell you what is happening, which is why I truly love Matrix Revolutions (but thats another story).

Completely Off-Topic::::: I really wanna see RahXephon, but truly every new person that says "Rah is Evangelion, but better" just makes me want to not see it. Regardless, I will see it, just because I'm in the mood for that kind of thing right now. I'll pick up volume 1 next time I hit Best Buy (probably this weekend)

As I explained to you in the car, the first 2/3 or so is quite worth it... The rest... not so much... :?
