Encoding question about those silly 16 multiples

Post by BillyBlaze » Mon Nov 10, 2003 4:50 am

If you encode something at 480x270 then when played back will it have flickering green lines on EVERYONES computers, or will it only have those problems for some people and not all of them?

It will depend on their playback filter.

Some do, some dont.

The answer is to not have that problem and use multiples of 16 every time.

Just resize to 480x272 - it's just a difference of 2 pixels, it wont kill you.

Actually, that was probably just Cat trying to indirectly find out if changing his decoder will let him watch his damn video :/

StunderScore: TAB
StunderScore: SOMETHIGN HORRIBLE HAPPNED
see info for sn: did your penis fall off?
StunderScore: WORSE
see info for sn: =O
StunderScore: SOMEONE ENCODED A VIDEO AT 480X270
see info for sn: O_o
StunderScore: AND 270 ISN'T A MULTIPLE OF 16
StunderScore: it seems that I'm the only one who gets problems playing back vid that isn't a multiple of 16
StunderScore: WTF DO I DO?

Or maybe Cat told the kid he did it wrong and he's asking about it.
Or maybe it's just a huge coincidence.
