Taking Fansub CDs a step to far

I love Kanon. I love DVD's filled with extras and pretty packaging (As lon as they're not from ADV) I would buy Kanon on DVD, but it's been out for a year and yet to be licensed. (groan)

So, it's time to fire up the printer and burner, and make my own Kanon collection. Can you belive I failed 11th grade graphics and design?

Now I only need to make 6 more for the TV series and 1 for the OST.

As well as 4 DVD case inserts (Using double disk DVD cases). Then have them printed on at some print shop. And also make the disks, with menus and even extras. :X

And know what's scary? I think that will be FUN, because I just love to make graphics and menus and stuff.

They made a 13 episode TV series based on it. A totally non-H series too, I mean, it dosn't even have panty shots or fan service. Just a sad, winding story.

For extra's it'll be mostly material about the characters, some music, slide shows, and I have a 5min video with parts of the production, I can cut that up. I won't have more then a few mins of extra content per disk. Keep in mind I have to crap 2 episodes per standard CD, along with the extras.

I actually found a site with almost all the images from the game, including backgrounds and characters in almost every form of clothing and expression. Perfect for menus.

I used to do that, but mine didn't look as neat. Great job there.

What sort of paper/stickers are you using? Since usually these make a big difference on how the final product looks

We have a pack of glossy CD lables and a pack of matte, I'll likely go with the glossy. I might need to buy 4 8.5x11 glossy pages for the fill disk lables.

Just wait, I'm going to include synopsis on the backs of the DVD cases even. And don't even THINK that I'm bootlegging or anything, this is costing me about $20 to do 8 disks, not exactly cost effective, but fun, and good practice since it looks like I'll be lining up a job with someone doing freelance (legal) DVD authoring. (And to think, I don't even have a DVD burner)

However, should anyone be interested in having the image ISOs of these XSVCDs, I could make them available if they ask, Kanon isn't licensed yet even, so it's no biggy.

I had to go to 4 stores just to find a place with double disk DVD cases. :\ Stables Buisness Depot didn't even have them in their catalog.

I don't know if they have exactly the item you want, but mycableshop.ca has a nice wide selection of that kind of thing for mail-order, and they have Canadian prices and shipping. I've been pleased with them.
