Opinion rating

Post by Lyrs » Thu Nov 06, 2003 7:14 pm

Idea: The amv creator has the option to rate a reviewer.

It could be the star-like system and/or the review/opinion system.

the benefits? good reviewers get good scoes, bad ones get bad scores, and has their dicks shortened.

really bad reviewers could be singled out and castrated.

I'm aware that there is a similar system in place, but it's based on word count.

Sorry, couldn't help it.

'The reviewer is reviewing himself' - R.F.

I think it's usually pretty self-evident anyways.

Sure, but having the system in place might make it easier to pick out the reviewers who don't review anything at all.

yep, i mentioned that. it's based on the number of words a person types.

what the idea is is giving the amv creators a hand in scoring/rating opinions.

That would be good just like at Amazon.com where you can rate the reviewers also. That way you can tell who to listen to or not.

problem 1: certain creators (especially the ones who give themselves all 10s) will only look at scores the reviewer gave them and will give a rating proportional to the scores the reviewer gave. as a result, reviewers will be more hesitant to give low scores and after a while every video will be getting all 10s.

problem 2: rating reviews will pressure reviewers into writing long, thought-out reviews. many reviewers simply don't have the time. instead of leaving a few short reviews, they won't leave any reviews at all because they don't want to get bad reviewer ratings.

problem 3: the reviewers who don't review anything at all won't even have a reviewers rating. if you don't write a review, how is an amv creator supposed to rate your review?

one way to avoid problem 1 is to have reviews rated by other people who have rated the same amv. say Mr. X, Ms. Y, and Mrs. Z review Mr. A's video. Mr. X, being able to read everyone else's reviews, can rate Ms. Y's and Mrs. Z's review, and so on for the Ms. Y and Mrs. Z.

That was along the lines of what I had in my head. I this could done it would be pretty good.

However if people could rate reviews made public that would be better if more reviews could be made public instead of just a measly two. :?

This way people don't get terrible review ratings just because their opinion was different than another reviewer's.

There are too many ratings as it is, and mostly the only TRUE reason for wanting MORE, is the hopeless fantasy that a new system might suddenly make yer shit get good ratings.

Heh, problem is that most people review pretty subjectively so it doesn't actually matter. Personally I like it when people I know review my videos and leave lots of comments and stuff to read, otherwise I don't much care.

I just wish that everyone could read ALL the opinions, I don't see the logic is just allowing you to make 2 of them public.
