Whooo, thats a relief. If it had come to the time where people could hate video games as a form of entertainment, putting them on par with a tabacco addiction, but still let television and movies slide, the world would need to reassess the situation. Some parts of it sounded soccer-momish, like the whole "bad scores in P.E." and "sign 'em up for after school sports!" Also, I see some really good English 'round these parts...

no they dont and thats probly why my family all over is so messed up cause the generation b4 us never talks to us man i hope i dont turn out like thatDTJB wrote:I only glanced at this article, and considered it total crap. Shouldn't these mothers take responsibility in their own hands and raise their kids themselves? Shouldn't they put restrictions on their kids game playing time, or better yet, describe to their kids the differences between right and wrong, fantasy and reality themselves? Have these parents ever done their jobs and talked to their kids ONCE? Have they considered that the problem is deeper than the games and that other factors are involved? Peer-pressure and neglect come to mind.
This lame topic has been brought up too many times over countless decades and in other forms. Bevis and Butthead "were to blame", Jackass "was to blame", (title of a popular movie) "is to blame". Notice Shakespear is never to blame. Ever read Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet? The only reason forms of media like that are never brought up is because they aren't popular right this minute. The bottom line is, parents should turn the T.V. off for an hour or so, quit blaming everyone else when they are just as at fault, and just establish time outs and teach their kids some freaking social skills for once.
WHHHOOOO! Man did I ever need to get that off my chest.

I admit I am a social outcast, but that's the way that I am... All of my friends play video games like there is no tomorrow, but we don't go around immitating things from games we play... In fact, one of my friends gets a 4 point and all he does is game, game, game, eat, sleep and repeat. If games had affected me, I'dve already been thrown in jail for life because of GTA and Splinter Cell... The only thing that video games do for me is to supply something to do when there's nothing else to do...
Same goes for anime: if it affected us, we'd be life long convicts...
Downloading things off of the internet: Everyone does that, whether it be a hobo at a cyber cafe or Bill Gates at his spiffy desk, everyone does it, you can't get away from that fact...
There's about 1 cent of my 2 cents... It's sorta late and I can't ramble when I'm half asleep...
