Production Group

Post by Alpha_Hazard » Tue Oct 28, 2003 12:24 am

My Roomate and I are thinking about starting a Production Group. we figure we can make stuff for other people while on the side we make AMV's? Is that feasible, or does it inevitably spiral into a lot of conflicts with time and resources?

Define "other stuff."

Really, a "production group" or "studio" is just a group of friends who want to release their AMVs (whether created individually or as a team) under a common banner. Hell, lots of AMV creators have one-man studios, and it suits them just fine.

well, I dunno, say there is some wacko who wants his home movies put into a nice little film, we could do that, or say we find a local band who wants a music video made for their song, we could do that, I mean, I was just wondering whther or not that is really something that needs to happen, or would it just be easier to get five people together and share the cost of expensive software?

The question is, do you guys want to do non-AMV stuff to supplant the costs involved in making AMVs (i.e. software, hardware, etc), or do you guys truely honestly want to do video stuff, and just want to do AMVs for the fun of it?

Forming a production group doesn't mean buying an office, creating strict rules, or whatever. It's about friends who love doing video stuff and want to do it together.

Do whatcha like.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you prioritize.

AMV = Hobby
Video Production = Job that pays money.

How hard can it be to get that priority streight?

Well, you can make music videos of both anime and live-action. Sure as hell nothing's stopping you. But if you're referring to things besides music videos, such as documentaries for example, you have to take into consideration things like filming and costs. It'll take a lot more money to do those than AMVs. o_O

yeah, no doubt, I mean, My friend has a camera, but even then, it's pretty difficult to get permision to film at some places.
