original vs remix

it also depends on the genre ...
most hip hop, rap and whatever remixes usualy consist of an added verse, an extra synth instrument, a slightly changed bass rythm, plus 15 seconds of some dumb fuck saying "REMIX YO!" over and over again.
Personaly i like Trent Reznor's remixes. With the exception of lyrics and certain melodies, his remixes (that i've heard so far) are usualy totaly different from the original songs.

well thats your opinion ... to me rap in general is crap by default. Rap remixes just go into the negatives ... for me to like a rap song ... hmmm ... i don't really think there is a rap song i like ... well eminem's "loose yourself" is tollerable ... if i hear it once or twice a week or some thing it's ok ... more then that gets on my nerves.schrizo wrote:rap remixes are usually so-so to crappy.

It depends on who's being remixed, and who's doing the remixing.
For example - on the Skinny Puppy album Remix Dystemper
Autechre and Mark Walk put down some damn creative work.
Chris Vrenna and Rhys Fulbar kept their songs true to the original, but slightly different in a good way
Chino Moreno shit all over his track, as did Josh Wink

LOL. I see someone has heard the Reanimation version of In The End...Propyro wrote:most hip hop, rap and whatever remixes usualy consist of an added verse, an extra synth instrument, a slightly changed bass rythm, plus 15 seconds of some dumb fuck saying "REMIX YO!" over and over again.
On the other hand, Crawling and Runaway got SOO much better...
I have like 4 different remixes of Bananarama's "Cruel Summer", most of them Ace of Base covers. AOB really knows how to remix a song.
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.
