Can't forget Grave of the Fireflies. Heck, the whole thing was depressing.
That was sad, The first Anime I cried to. I liked the Story, and Everything, I'd recomend it to everyone, The ending is just a Tear Jerker.

Junkers Come Here had me in tears at the end. Ditto with just about any Ghibli movie, but especially Kiki & Totoro. Series wise, Saber Marrionette J to X surprisingly moved me, as did the OVA of Magic User's Club. Oh, and so did She, the Ultimate Weapon.

Yeah a lot of people do. If you're referring to the last 6 episodes or whatever, I understand. If not, THE ending (like last 5 minutes), I actually like that and have noticed a big difference between what westerners think of it compared to easterners.

And no that's not a racist statement. I just think we have different mentalities about love and such. I believe Shoji Kawamori at AX'02 also stated this when people laughed during the Escaflowne Movie ending.

escaflowne the movie's ending i thought was a bit odd ... i have no idea how character x and character y could have developed such a strong bond to be able to love eachother in a way comparable to how it went in the series. Because if you asked me ... they weren't together nearly long enough.

I'm talking about the last five minutes. It disturbed me to no end that Characters X and Y could proceed at the end to live normal lives apart. But then, I tend to have the problem with fantasy in general that it seems as if most characters change during the storyline but at the end seem to practically forget everything they learned and did. Like the Wizard of Oz--in the book Dorothy wasn't just dreaming; she was actually gone. And yet she's perfectly content with being away from Oz, or so it seems (the sequels may say otherwise). If I were to get sucked into a magical fantasy world, I don't know if I'd be content with living life like I used to before the magical event.
