Converting .wma to .mp3

Post by Kaji01 » Thu Oct 16, 2003 1:56 am

I've been looking through my collection of songs for ideas, and I have some that are really good, it's just that half the programs on my computer refuse to recognize .wma files. Shy of burning off all of the few hundred .wma files and re-ripping them, does anyone know of any utility to either make .wma files a recognizible format to Premiere or else convert .wma files to .mp3s?

Premiere 6.5 has WMA support, I think....

If it doesn't then just make an audio CD with Nero (you could make one with WMP9s integrated CD audio burning, but its not as good as Nero) and then rip the tracks with ExtractAudioCopy. Either that or get Audacity and see if it will open WMA files, then export as a MP3.

I legally own the CDs all the WMA files came from, but unfortunately I'm at school and they're all 5 hours away at home (factor in another for searching the house). Probably ought to track down a copy of Premiere 6.5, seems that it'll also solve my deinterlacing issues I've been dealing with... (<-- has been using 6.0). Looks like I'll just burn off the ones I need for now and re-rip them...
