A trailer for your own AMV

Post by HurQlez03 » Thu Oct 16, 2003 1:31 am

How about this for an idea. To get people into watching your vid, how about making a traier for it. Not betas. Betas are just incompletions of your AMV with little anticipation for the real thing. I am thinking of trying that for my next AMV. whaddya think?

well, if you were going to host it on your own space and not put a listing in the catalog I would say that seems fine, just a lot of work for not much benefit. I remember Otakon briefly began putting a re-cap at the end of the contest with 10 second clips from each entry...and though that was pretty cool it was just a recap.

Now if you made a reel of your stuff, that would make more sense. Little clips of samples from each of your amvs in one downloadable clip if you wanted to make a teaser for people instead of having to download your whole video first. And again, it would be best to keep stuff like that off the golden donut, even though it may benefit people like me, on a dial up connection.

But still, I prefer to judge a video by it's entire length. Some of the better songs have climaxes or plots that you can only really see how good it is by judging the whole thing.

so you would show a couple of the best 2-3 second-long clips in your AMV?
sounds like a good idea. especially for picky 56kers/limited bandwidthers. if it lets the audience get a feeling of the mood, the effects, the editing, and the capture quality for in a few MB.
