now what really would be cool is if they made an alternate ending to EoE where rei doesn't merge with lillith and shinji grows a pair and tells rei how he feels(c'mon we all know he loves her)

I don't know if shini loved rei or not i kinda got the feeling that as long as he was getting some he would be happy.I say that because he acted like he liked all of the girls in the series.

Uh, are you also forgetting the fact that she is a clone of his mom? Personally, I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to jump into that sort of relationship. Hell, why not just have Shinji kill Gendo while you're at it? Then we'll have a Greek tragedy.

I didn't like the ending to the series because it left me wondering just <i>what happened</i> in Third Impact. End of Eva gave a good deal more closure, albeit at the expense of most of the cast...
