Discrete comedic moments

Here's an "interesting" question. Can you name any comedic moments in a serious anime? What I mean of serious anime is anime that doesn't have "overreactive" characters like sweat drops and such.

Here's an example. In X TV series, Sorata and Yuto were fighting each other in Sorata's barrier field. Every time they threw an attack, they started to joke around with come-backs and attack more. I thought it was pretty funny.

There're a few moments in early Eva and Rah-Xephon that play around with the characters a little and do some pretty funny stuff ^^
