Car Audio Deck MP3 and DVD playback info request

Post by nailz » Fri Oct 10, 2003 10:56 am

I was wondering if any of you guys knew of any stereo decks for cars that support DVD+R/RW mp3 playback? I'd love to drive around with 4.5 gigs of music. Never have to change the cd again :D ... unfortunately, I cant seem to find anything.

DVD audio is on the rise. As for MP3 you would have to go pretty high end. The only ones I have seen that have MP3 playback (on the DVD standard) also have DVD (video), VCD, Divx, WMV and WMA playback. That's getting pricey, for the deck (including video display) you looking around $1200-1500 American. Any HiFi Buys or Best Buys should carry at least one brand with said features.
But hell, at that you would be better off with an OmniFi system. 20 gigs of MP3/WMA ( **groan** ) playback and a 802.11/Wifi antenna to connect your PC to your auto. Can't beat that with a stick! :D
