To contribute to this discussion, I would like to stress that some ppl use
AMV footage because it is there only source material. I did all my first vids this way. As a practice run this is ok. I have put disclaimers in front of the vids and have a remark on my website. Since I don´t have firewire or Video in, the net was my only source.

I have acquired new and raw hi res footage after those first vids were done (Final Fantasy is exclusively used..was easier
to come by then real anime...) and my new vids certainly are more original.
But to condemn ppl just for using the footage is plain wrong. If they do not label it as their own, it is ok. In my case, the vids I made are all different from the source I took it from and there are no long scenes. I agree that taking large parts and claiming them as their own is wrong, but one has to see each case seperatly.

My first test in premiere ever was a vid by Adiamante were I just switched the music and adjusted about 2 % of the vid to accomodate the new music. It fit so well that I kept it but did not post it.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I now have a better understanding of what I can do.
