A question about Sesshomaru...possible spoilers
I have seen most of Inuyasha but I am confused
I thought I remembered seeing Sesshomaru saying that he despised and hated humans. Wasnt one of the reasons Sesshomaru hates Inuyasha is that he is a only a half demon?
I saw the episode where Sesshomaru was healing after loosing his arm and Rin found him and brought Sesshomaru food and waited on him. Then she was killed IIRC by Koga's wolves.
When Sesshomaru saw Rins body lying dead in the road he seemed to show regret at her death and used Tetsuaiga's twin to ressurect the girl and he now allows her to travel with him and keep him company. And as far as I can tell he doesnt seem to treat her bad and seems concerned for her safety.
What am I missing here? Isnt it out of character for Sesshomaru to show compassion for a human girl, and on top of that let her travel with him?
What happened to cause him to change?

People change when shown compasion for the first time. Human or not, he did experience compasion from Rin, and it was enough for him to want to "save" her. I put that in quotation because he mostly did it to test the powers of Tensaiga. And as to why he lets her follow him around, he has always been mysterious so it could be his need for a "friend" or he just might find her entertaining. I have never considered him to be a villian so I can totally see him wanting to have a friend along for the ride. Also not to give anything away but from what I have seen from eps not dubbed yet, he begins to take a turn like Vegeta does in the appearance of being a villian to being a somewhat not a villian but not a saint.

Its been awhile, but did he fight inuyasha in full youkai mode and tesagia saved him.. or did he save rin with it first? I cant remember which happened first.
anyways i agree with mas..
the series really hasnt said much about them.. but i think they are so cool. rin is a great character. maybe sometime down the road they will explain things.
and the 3rd movie looks kinda stupid.. its cool and all, but we all know its just going to end up a tie..at least the fighting will be cool.

What he said. *points up to MAS PRODUCTIONS' post* I think that you could probably examine it from the whole life-debt thing too--she saved his life, and therefore in a sense he owes it to Rin to protect her. I suspect that's how it starts, at least... after a while, though, I'm pretty sure he honestly starts to care for her (well, as much as he can care for anyone).
But yeah--Rin is the reason why Fluffy-sama has fangirls...

I always thought Sesshomaru kept Rin around because she wasn't as annoying as Jakken. Sure, fluffy is out of line giving Jakken so much crap, but the lizard is so damn clingy, it's irritating. On ocassion, Rin goes around and does whatever the hell she wants, but maintains her loyalty to Sesshomaru.
Also, Rin isn't one of those typical humans that's afraid of him, and doesn't want to lecture him about ethics (kind of an odd concept for a society that slaughtered thousands of women and children in the Phillippines).

I find it interesting in the development of Fluffy-sama's character. Its almost like beauty and the beast.
I wonder in the long run if Sesshomaru's interaction with Rin will have an affect of softening his attitudes and his heart?
After all isnt Inuyasha travelling with a human female and watches over her? Im starting to see alot of parallels to Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. They think they are nothing alike but it seems they have more in common than they realize or are willing to admit.
