Yes, it's noobish, but that's completely understandable, as it's your first site...

But yeah, add colors, and unless your monitor's shaped oddly, I'd change the resolution to 1024x768, since more people tend to have their pcs set to that resolution than--what's yours set at?--1280x1024.

*shrug* It's a first site. Have fun playing around with it!

But especially tell us when you get better at it.

bandwidth exceeded, yay.

800x600 is most common resolution worldwide though. because most people keep res set at it when they get comp, and because most comps in the world in libraries and schools and 3rd world countries are ghetto.
I usually design around this so African Tribes and chinese orphans can frustrate themselves trying to read English.

Get rid of the Intro screen. This isn't a powerpoint presentation (i hate those things).

Get rid of the red. Use a picture or something.

We all have to start somewhere. You can't get good overnight, it takes practice.

It's not bad for a start, I've seen worse. Keep practicing, in time you will learn. I'm making a site of my own, but It'll take some time to release though.

Do you have some sort of fascination with large empty spaces? :?

I probably couldn't do better unless I really wanted to, but that's why I don't make a web page.
