Milly and Meryl are in the manga. Meryl becomes attracted to Vash a lot sooner and Milly and Wolfwood attract each other a lot later. The stories start out the same, but take major turns in the last book of the first series.

There's two Trigun mangas:
Trigun (3 books) ends on a cliffhanger In Jenora Rock when Vash confronts Knives for the first time. Knives sees the scars on Vash, gets ticked off, and takes it out on Legato and then makes Vash use his power. That's where the book ends.

Trigun Maximum is currenly 8 books and is still printing. It begins with the part fromt he series about Eriks, but instead of just the pig man, there's a guy dressed like Vash that took over the town. So Vash fights them and leaves like in the series. Then the books are completely different. Minor parts are the same as the series, but otherwise its completely different. I'm only up to the part where Knives and Legato kidnap Vash, translation wise... I'm bored today so I'll probably keep going through today.

yeah, this is like a separate topic: eva vs trigun. they are two different things, think the question should be which one you like better.
i liked trigun better cuz im a western fan and the guns are cool but eva was a great series also.

*Spoilers abt themes and ending*

the two animes explore different things abt life. trigun is abt valuing life in terms of not killing cuz you don't like someone. eva is abt valuing yr own life so it has meaning and serves a purpose.

i just wanted to make sure i got this right abt the ending of eva. shinji gets better cuz he realizes that he needs to love himself right? if that is true, why is it so confusing and many ppl not getting it?
