thats not always true infact most bootlegs iv seen have covers and very nice ones to. the main thing iv noticed about bootleg is it comes on like 3 dvds if the real thing comes on 7 or something like that. also if its all reagon then its most likely bootleg. and if its shipping from chine i would have a really good look at it couse even if it looks incredibly real 95% of the media in china is bootleg so be really carefull when its shipping from thereArigatomyna wrote:If you get used anime in stores you can find some great sales (Comic Quest being the one near me). And I've pawned enough anime at insanely low prices to know people *do* get crazy when they sell things they're no longer interested. Just look for covers of the dvds when you buy off ebay - if they don't have pictures you don't want it.
where can i download anime episodes for free?

Well, most of the bootlegs I've seen for sale there are recognizable by the covers, or the collection of pics they put on the back side (especially the ones done by the same companies). But my main point was don't go by the written description unless they say it has english dialogue as well as japanese. If it's in japanese (no english) you want to check the pic before you decide if it's the real thing. I know some people don't mention the chinese dialogue on their ebay listings because they know it's a sure sign of bootlegs.madmag9999 wrote:thats not always true infact most bootlegs iv seen have covers and very nice ones to. the main thing iv noticed about bootleg is it comes on like 3 dvds if the real thing comes on 7 or something like that. also if its all reagon then its most likely bootleg. and if its shipping from chine i would have a really good look at it couse even if it looks incredibly real 95% of the media in china is bootleg so be really carefull when its shipping from thereArigatomyna wrote: - if they don't have pictures you don't want it.
A lot of the time your best bet is to go by the pics. For instance, if you go through animeart.com you can tell what's bootleg and what isn't just by the screencaps of the back of the dvds - they tend to have the same style layout for the pics.

Well, I've seen some very 'real' looking covers, but the backs are usually a good give-away. I know the ones at animeart are pretty similar in style - and any you find on ebay that have the same layout are 90% likely to be bootleg. If they don't tell much about the dvds (on ebay) I usually go by the pics.

Does your library have request feature? usually if one library doesn't have a copy, another does.Arigatomyna wrote:Heh, I'm lucky if my library gets 5yr old disney movies - they don't really carry much animation, and no japanese animation.Lyrs wrote:i get my anime from the public library whenever a they buy a new one, and no, i don't copy it. that's against the law.

The library over here dont have any good stuff for anime, they only have older movies and some disney movies, stuff like that. They dont have mangas and any anime series, i checked out all their databases and they only had like 5 of the whole series of love hina mangas and they were all checked out, and i was like 30 in the waiting list, it would take me years to get that manga, so i said screw it. Ill just buy it.
