Can you have AMV and the music video in the same?
I was wondering before I do this AMV, can you have an AMV but have teh music video of the song in the AMV?

He didn't say a tv show, he said a music video. Implication being to either copy scenes like Sierra Lorna's Elvis VS Anime or to take someones edited footage and insert it in like uh.. maybe the mtv version on a screen as part of the video or something. Most AMV contest rules seem to have an 80% anime rule. So if you are going to use footage from the music video the artist made, you have to replace at least 80% of it with anime footage.
Also there are rules against 'trolls'. There has to be editing done. You can't take a continious scene, set it to music and then call it an AMV.
These are just general contest rules if you want to enter your project into competition. I think you will find the true answer to your question by reading the rules to the contest you intend to enter. (Assuming you want to enter it.) You can pretty much make whatever you want if you don't intend to enter it into a contest.
