HELP!

OK. Update I setup some data recovery software and half the files are gone while another half are still there. (most importantly the AMV's and video editing projects.) but I need a way to recover the drive.

I honestly can't give you any suggestions beyond taking out the drive and trying it in another computer

I hope you get it working/backed up.

OK. All the files I had are still there and are untouched. The deleted files look to be fiels I had deleted on my own. I'm pissed bigtime, My harddrives keep having one problem or another. Anyone want anything? a dedication in my next AMV or something? I'm begging here.

What does Disk Management say about the partition/drive?

Disk management? It must be here somewhere but I can't find it. But I'll tell as much as I can with what I've been able to figure out in detail. When I right click it in the general tab is says 0 of 0 bytes. When I try to error check nothing happens. And in the hardware tab it says the hard drives are working propertly.

It's in Control Panel, under Administrative Tools and then Computer Management.

OK, this is strange. It says my C drive is is NTFS and healthy. It says the secondayry drive ( the F drive) is there, and heathy, but no NTFS or FAT32. And this post woudl have been here earlier but my computer slows down to the pace of a wounded snail when it goes into the Disk Management.

Have you tried opening a command prompt, switching to the glitchy drive, and running a CHKDSK command on it?

Click Start, then Run, type in CMD and hit Enter.

In the command window, change to the glitchy drive by typing in drive letter:, and pressing Enter.

Type in CHKDSK, hit Enter, and see what happens.
