Have you tried pressing the Print Scrn key and then pasting the results in an image editing program?

if you have wmm 2.0, just open it up, and import video...scroll to the scene you want, pause, and next to the play, pause, ff, rewind buttons is a camera button...click that, and save the picture to your desktop or something

I use BlazeDVD to watch DVDs on my computer, and it has a 'Take Screenshot' button. All you have to do is pause to take it.

But if you mean AVI's and such, sorry, only way I can do it is to import the actual frame into Animation Shop Pro and save it there.

I knoe it might be late and this is such a necro post but if ur using rm of wm player just turn down the video acceleration you'll find it in the options menu that should fix it up.
