Neon Genesis Evangelion Manga

Does anyone know when the eigth volume of the neon genesis manga come out, and how many volumes they are gonna make. I read volumes 1 through 7 and i thought they were great, but i still havent seen the tv-series or any of the movies. What do you guys think, is the manga better than the tv-series so far or the other way around. Should i get the manga or the tv-series.

ummm ... the manga should be finished by now ... the anime came out in like ... 96 ... at least a full year two after the manga was compleated. I don't know how many volumes of manga there are, but there dosn't necesrily have to be one for every volume of the anime.

Well volume 7 was about when Eva-01 woke up and shinji is stuck inside. Then on the last page, it said that it will continue in volume 8, but when i looked online, its shows that volume 8 is only in japanese print still. I was wondering this because neon genesis has been out for a long while and i was expecting that the mangas would be complete, oh well, ill check out the anime plus next week o something and ask them too. Anyone else gots any comments...

ok... weird ... every thing i found for eva ended at volume 7 ... maybe your right .. but why would they have waited so long to release the manga?

The manga series is not complete if I remeber correctly. The Manga and has some very prominent differences from the anime series. Sadamoto was given alot of freedom by Gainax and Anno to do his own interpertation of the series.

In other manga news, the fanscans for Girlfreind of steel 2 came out this week. Its sorta a "what if..." manga that is set in the alternate reality that is in ep 25/26. The manga is more light hearted then the series, so if you found the series depressing or confusing you might want to check out GoS2.

I dont kno y they waited soo long, maybe they waited soo long so that they could sort of revive the series o something like that. Hopefully they will come out with the rest of the mangas soon because i dont like being left hanging for a long time. Should i get the dvd o mangas, what u guys think, and any other comments.

They didn't wait. The manga was made AFTER the show's completion, and entirely by Sadamoto. He's not done yet.

So be patient.

R u serious, they aint done yet. What u mean not done, the tv-series o what. I though they finished that off already. Oh well i think the mangas are worth the wait, and besides i dont really have the choice. Thanks for the info anyone else...

TV series has been done for a while. The mangas came out afterwards, and the mangas are not complete yet.
