I don't care what other people think of my vids, if they like it good, if the don't like it oh well. But even if noones sees the vid, As long as I like it, even if it was a bitch to edit. If it meets MY standards then that's what matters. What I'm saying is basicaly. The editing doesn't need to be fun, but it doesn't need to be made to please others either.

Oh no! A little while ago we only used to have GOOD TASTE Police, but now we also have GOOD TASTE Gestapo.

AMV's are a intended to be a pop/fan-art medium. Take the 'pop(ular)' out of it, and you have a bunch of Nazi fanboys who are like 'OMG this n00b suxor because I don't think he should be making vids'.

Elitism sucks.

let all the newbies in the world make videos. let them all make horrible videos, but they SHOULD IMPROVE OVER TIME, and not be assholes when they get bad reviews.

Improving over time is a good thing, I agree.

But, I don't think they have to.

Of course, a poor response to a fair review is indicative of the creator's quality.

But, really, that's why we have a top-10% thingy and a star scale. This way, the newbies can do what they want, those who don't wish to improve, don't, and those who want to see decent videos generally do.

I mean, let those who want to be in the amateur league stay in the amateur league.

And, going back to the main concern of the thread... I'll be damned to hell if I ever intentionally make a video for someone other than myself. There's really no incentive for an amateur like me to be doing anything that doesn't produce a genuine personal kind of satisfaction.

I make my amv's according to my mood...if im mad, ill make a video like my Saiya-jin's Shout, if im lovey dovey, than my Kenshin's With You in my sig...But while i make these videos, i also think about the viewers as well, and want to make a video to satisfy me and the viewers out there...

but lets not forget to factor in the fact that the donut servers are up. There are people going around making LBZ videos using downloaded RM eps and flaming those who give them negative reviews. Normally I would agree that people should be allowed to not improve if they don't want to, but if these people are going to use the free hosting and not donate they should at least TRY to make a video that meets the minimum standards. (no downloaded fooage or audio.) and not troll and flame those who give them negative ops.
