hmmm bad choice of words, sorry for misleading you there ... i'm usualy not the loud one any ways. and i try to ... but still i'm not good at talking to people. somewhere on the path form mind to mouth thoughts get muddled and distorted and the meaning of my words get lost in a sea of studdering and stammering, and poor choices of synonyms.

If other people are trying to convince you by being loud and overbearing, simply sit still, talk softly (but not under your breath), and allow yourself time to think.
You would be amazed who simply holding a hand up will quiet down the people around you, even if it's only momentarily.
I'm yet to see that work in practice, except in the case of somone who holds authority.

You don't have to respond to every point made by the other side. It's not about winning, you can't since nobody in this situation will be changing their mind. It's about earning respect. You earned it from your sister, you can earn it from the rest of them too.
I try not to respond to every thing, infact if i see a chance to let something go unanswered with out it doing any kind of damage to me or my "position" i'll let it by.

no, in thier eyes that's the same as being wrong. i've made my bed, now i'll have to lie in it ... This was going to happen one day or another ... theough i'd rather have had it happen after i've moved out where my mother can't take it out on me so easily.
