Life isn't always fair, some people are nice and or cool, but most are just assholes that are only interested in self gain....

What your mom did was ignorant and wrong. You have the right to your own religion... wait, you're in the U.S. right? o.O.. Nope, Canada, oh well, then you should have the right to your own religion... As for the sponsor thing, you did make the right choice, I mean, if you're not exactly a 'chosen' candidate, or you don't want to, you shouldn't have too. Well... being a person for the job and not wanting to do it would be pretty wrong.
your mom.

not as wrong as not being the person for the job and just doing it because you get a cool sponsor gift.

Bringing it back on topic--yeah. Good for you for not sponsoring the kid, and good for you for not blindly believing in Catholicism solely because you were raised that way.

oh yeah, so ontopic, since I never mentioned anyhting about it.

My grandparents are hardcore religion freaks as well. they hate how i am, and they blame my parents, which is fair I guess. My parents are religous, but they never made me go to church.

Anyways, I'm constently shocking my grandparents. Me and my brothers. My grandma was like, "YOUR BROTHER IS LIVING WITH HIS GF, AND THEY'RE NOT MARRIED!?" She almost disowned him. Good thing no one told her they're fucking. woooooo

And she hates my liberal use of not so clean words, and my tatoos and piercings. She doens't blame my parents for this tho, she blames my friends in bands I hang out with, and yeah, I bame them too. everytime i spend time with Tony Lovato form Mes tI start using the f word about 5 times more.

Umm... once you stop being a child, you grow up... see the connection? :?

Don't argue. Converse.
If other people are trying to convince you by being loud and overbearing, simply sit still, talk softly (but not under your breath), and allow yourself time to think.
You would be amazed who simply holding a hand up will quiet down the people around you, even if it's only momentarily.

You don't have to respond to every point made by the other side. It's not about winning, you can't since nobody in this situation will be changing their mind. It's about earning respect. You earned it from your sister, you can earn it from the rest of them too.

Just remember - you're not wrong, you're just not them.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

hmmm bad choice of words, sorry for misleading you there ... i'm usualy not the loud one any ways. and i try to ... but still i'm not good at talking to people. somewhere on the path form mind to mouth thoughts get muddled and distorted and the meaning of my words get lost in a sea of studdering and stammering, and poor choices of synonyms.

I'm yet to see that work in practice, except in the case of somone who holds authority.

I try not to respond to every thing, infact if i see a chance to let something go unanswered with out it doing any kind of damage to me or my "position" i'll let it by.

no, in thier eyes that's the same as being wrong. i've made my bed, now i'll have to lie in it ... This was going to happen one day or another ... theough i'd rather have had it happen after i've moved out where my mother can't take it out on me so easily.
