Well, it was actually a decent church. My point was that many "Christians" aren't very Christian at all. But a lot of them were literate.

they don't call it forbiden fruit for nothing. Personaly i don't care much for alcohol. But the fact that i'm not 19 is annoying. there's a lot of shit i can't do becasue of that. i couldn't see my friend's band play, i can't go to many cool concerts becasue theres a good deal of them that happen in 19+ establishments ... i also can't eat at the out rigger becuse they were too cheap to comply with the seperate smoking area laws in ontario so they made the whole resteraunt a smoking section, so you need to be 19 to get in. Meh it sucks and i don't feel like getting a fake id ...Trident wrote:It's so true.... should we have limits? Yes. Should they be overly strict? I think limits are best when morally induced and not forced by government. The only good limits are ones you are raised to follow, if the government imposes them it will only cause people to want to break them.
I agree that the drinking age should be lowered, but I also think that drinking should be watched and kept under control.
As for me... I have been known to drink a little once in a while, but I've never gotten drunk and I don't ever want to. In my case, my dad and my brother are all the reason I need. It has nothing to do with government or religion. My dad is an alcoholic and I can't stand him. My brother is an alcoholic and his life is ruined. Moderation is a virtue.

that's only too trueflint_the_dwarf wrote: The only good limits are ones you are raised to follow, if the government imposes them it will only cause people to want to break them.
Well it wouldn't be a wize idea to lower the drinking age to say ... 16, and have parents allow their kids to go out and get smashed every night ... thats jsut wrong for so many reaons. One of them being that their kidnesy will croak before their 25, the other being pretty obvious ... hyper, angry, drunk kids are not cool to be around.flint wrote:I agree that the drinking age should be lowered, but I also think that drinking should be watched and kept under control.
ditto ... well ... except for the brother thing ... and my dad isn't quite an alcoholic ... he's usualy pretty good with it, but when he goes overboard he jumps right in. Thankfully my dads not an angry drunk, he's more of a funny, sentimental drunk.flint wrote: As for me... And yes, moderation is a virtue few seem to posses ... including me ... i jsut spent the whole day on the org when i should have been working on my math and figuring out a conversion program for my C class on monday.flint wrote: It has nothing to do with government or religion. Oh, and if the drinking age were lowered, I think it should be to 18.

But yea ... lowering the drinking age to 16 ... now that i think about it ... thats not a very wise choice ... 18 would probably be a much better idea ... though if you thiunk about it, it's jsut stupid.
your 18 yrs, 364 days old... according to the law your too dumb to comprehend the responsiblilty that drinking entails.
yet tommorow your magicaly enlightened and are a responsible person capable of drinking wiht out putting others at risk. Well thats how it feels to me at least ... th whoel bull shit about there being such a stark contrast between the two sides ... ack words aren't comming out properly ... bu ti think you get what i mean ... good luck with japanese ... by the way would byou be able toe ll me what my shirt says? it's in that otaku thread some where in one of the OT forums.

Oh, also remember that in the U.S. the drinking age is 21. Everywhere I've been anyway. You only have to be 19 to get into the bars around here, but you can't legally drink there. Of course, plenty of 19 year olds do drink at the bars. It's a college campus, come on... like they can stop the drinking.

They might over look it ... or count it wrong and let me in anyways.
