Hellsing English Dub - opinions?

I'm a staunch supporter of subtitles, and I've seen the Hellsing series this way. Has anyone seen the English dub version and, if so, how good/bad a job did they do?

Like Bebop, I prefer Hellsing dubbed, even if they changed a couple minor lines.

I don't think that you should compare the Hellsing Dubbed to Cowboy Bebop, I personaly think that the Bebop is much better..... I would go with the Subbed on Hellsing...

It's good, really? Wow... kind of a surprise, although I'm sure with the money to be made, they wouldn't be dumb enough to give it a terrible dub.

speaking of which, I don't remember what I was watching the other day, but it had to be one of THE MOST horrific dubs I've ever heard... damnit, I was supposed to remember it ...

Ever notice that the women in dubbed hentai vids sound older, not very literate and er, well-used? *shudder*

I don't know. I don't own any of the hellsing DVD's so i've never seen it in english, But i don't really want to either. But they'd have to do a really fucking good job with the dub in order for me to say it's good. And personaly i think CB subbed is far better then Dubbed, Spike and jet's voices sound off to me and it aggravates me, but it still is a decent dub.

I liked it. Actually I would prefer it over the sub version for the reason of believabilty. Unlike most anime, Hellsing takes place in england and as such the voice actors should speak english. For that reason the dub is supurb. Also they make a good effort at faking british ascents. If you disagree with me than fine but I do have a logic to why I prefer the dub over the sub other than translation flaws and bad voices.

i havnt actually heard the english or japanese dub of hellsing...but i know Crispin Freeman does Alucard or whatever his name is for the english version and i know Freeman did good on BP and the other stuff he has done so i'd assume the dub would be at the least, fair. o.O

It was surprisingly good. I was expecting to watch Hellsing Subbed. But when I checked out the Dub I liked it. And it does make sense as MAS PRODUCTIONS said. Most animes I can watch subed only, very few have tolerable dubs, Hellsing is one of them.

For Hellsing, I think you really should HAVE to watch the dub. It's superb. Seras Victoria just MUST have an English accent- it is simply required for her character in my opinion. The others are well done as well. British characters talking in Japanese didn't work for me on this one. Trust me on this one- Hellsing's dub is much better than subbed. Get the dvd and compare and you'll see.
