Need a Non-Military Opinion

I was thinking of enlisting, but a couple thoughts crossed my mind:
1). I would be forced to pussyfoot around situations with the same "liability issues" inspired conflict-resolution crap public school employees have to go through, while ragheads would be shooting at me.
2). I can't stand crowds, so living in close proximity with a bunch of dumbasses with no future ahead of them except the military, was not appealing. I'd probably be executed for shooting my own people out of frustration, because quite a few of them don't habla ingles.
3). Since Clinton was still in office when I was considering this, being deployed to keep an intern's "extracurricular activities", or the president's tendency to have all his buddies assasinated out of the 6 o'clock news was also not appealing. There's too much corruption in the system, and our government has been focused on maintaining political power over us since the Civil War (the Confederates had the right under the Constitution to seperate from the Union).
Since I'm faithful to Reagan's ideals of small government, a free-market economy, and eliminating the Communist threat at all costs, I doubt I'd fit in with the whole tree-hugging, diverse military run today by a bunch of faggots. If I need to serve my nation, I'll do so as a concerned citizen, with my own hardware.

Isn't the world outside of the military kind of the same? Sell yourself to the company, sell yourself to the streets otherwise, and work, work, work - for what? The ability to incur less college debt so you can sell yourself for a little more, minimum wage, or going crazy from the struggle?Nestorath69 wrote:I need a non-military opinion: This is my reply to that.
Don't join the military. They lie to get you in. They lie when you're in. They lie when you leave.
Or you die in some godforsaken country with your pants full of shit and your brains in your lap, and your family gets a flag as a LOVELY consolation prize.
ALL HAIL THE MEAT GRINDER!
And then you die, either from colon cancer, getting capped or stabbed in the park at night, or, if you're really lucky, you can pull the trigger and end it all yourself. Your family gets your debt and whatever lame Walmart crap you've acquired, plus your shitty corporate music CDs.
FUCK
THAT
SHIT
At least you get free food and a gun in the military! Don't like it? Well, hey, mow down those who bother you if it gets too tough!
Hell, I might enlist. I'm bored, could use the money and free room and board, and I think I could kill someone if needed.
Hmm, minus the killing, I have a very Captain Tylor attitude towards the military.
So enjoy the "better" civilian life.
I'm out...

C'mon, guys, there's only one reason why ANYONE joins the military. They may not admit it, or it may not even be conscious- but the fact of the matter is, you join the military to prove, with lethal force, that your race, belief system, way of life, etc, etc.... is better than anyone else's, and you are willing to kill to enforce it. Who are you to judge people?
'Third world countries'... shit. most of them grow up having better, more fulfilling lives then us pasty-faced overambitious decadent aggorant Americans. Who are you to point the finger and say that you're better than anyone?
We all have 46 chromosomes, we all bleed red... we're all human before we're anything else. Why kill?

I did it for the money and school, not some higher calling... Get your head out of your ass and realize that not everyone in the military is there based on the primal urge for the blood of others.

I thought I asked the MODS to delete this topic.
I guess some things never die, but do me a favor, don't diss the military, I chose to join to serve my country, I don't understand why people think the military is some communist dictatorship. We have rules and regulations for a reason. I know there are many lies, I see it in our Fighter Squadron all the time because our Senior NCOs believe in nothing but Stats and could care less about our lives. I am currently going to be cross training to Security Forces and I think it will be fun. I enjoy the military and I believe that you should at least give us a chance, we have our collection of idiots, but we learn to cope with them.
And if you still have a problem with us, the why don't you read Mark Bowden's Blackhawk Down.

I didn't even know I was Military until the Americans came to Iran to release the Hostages - being in America is strange to us because we can actually Sleep at night without hearing Shots being fired-off 24/7 ( its peaceful here - I like that ^^ )
This thread could have been something simple and/or fun if those who complained had any code of conduct while they were raised!
