I never liked Anderson. Christianity/Catholicism is all abt humbling yourself to be good servants of God. Anderson is anything but a humble servant, he just uses it as a shield to beat rivals, yes rivals.
Alucard and Celas never did anything to be thought of as menaces to society and it pisses me off that Anderson's ass didn't get offed. Besides Christianity stressing tolerance and love for everyone(which Anderson apparently didn't have in his vocabulary) its also a common thing taught by nonreligious ppl. Alucard has more morals than that self-righteous SOB. Let ppl do their thing...when they're not hurting anyone doing it, no joke.(and especially when their endeavor is to protect ppl) I sure as hell know that there are a lot more anime fans than religious ppl so this gives Catholicism a bad name. Kids can't discern.
As for cool things that Anderson did? Well, propz for the blade fricks. The grin was really cool(and addictive to mimic) There's also the scene where Anderson runs up to Alucard and they have the Russian roulette position, Anderson jabs the blade, Alucard holds Andy at gunpoint and obviously fires, I thought thats the coolest thing in Russian roulette history...

i'm pretty sure that sometime before the show takes place alucard would've done SOMETHING to be considered a menace.omniinuyasha85 wrote:I never liked Anderson. Personally, I liked Anderson simply because he's such an arrogant freak. I won't say he's an asshole, since he's pretty much just insane. Anyway, saying Anderson didn't have the skills to back up all of his talk is a bit foolish, since not even Incognito there could actually kill Alucard. Had it been any other vampire, Anderson would stand a good chance of kicking their ass. Alucard, however, is the hero of the series and a legendary vampire, thus kinda tipping the scales in his favor. Can't wait for that manga to be released though, or possibly a new season of the Hellsing anime, since the ending was rather....too open ended.

I agree. Anderson had the skills, just not enough to kill Jesus.Evil Urchin wrote:Personally, I liked Anderson simply because he's such an arrogant freak. I really hope they decide to continue the anime, The Hellsing ending is just about as open ended as Berserk. Need....more....hellsing....

Uhhh, Jesus? Did someone misinterpret who Alucard really is? Here's a clue, spell the name backwards.KillDieMurder wrote:I agree. As for the Hellsing ending, I hated it. It wasn't as unfortunately open ended as the ending of Berserk, at least the Berserk manga goes on though. I just felt like it left so many good questions completely unanswered.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

I'm learing Japanese on my own time using an old book my dad has (*cough* 1973 *cough*) and a learn Japanese cd program for the computer.billy_wires wrote:How are you going about learning Japanese? I beleive near the end of the last episode Alucard is shown and it kinda flashes and shows him resembling Jesus, hinting that he is indeed, Jesus.Uhhh, Jesus? Did someone misinterpret who Alucard really is? Here's a clue, spell the name backwards.

I may have to rewatch it, but thats what I remember.
"Alucard" is the lamest, most unoriginal name to give a vampire. It's been played out since Castlevania 3.
But Alucard, as a character in hellsing, is awsome.

I believe that Dracula is based on a real count, Vlad Tepes. He's a sick shit bastard, earning him the name Vlad the Impaler. As the name goes, he gets a kick out of impaling ppl. SOme sources say through the privates...though I'm not sure abt the last part.
Besides Cowboy Bebop, I don't like open endings either...
