Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are your friends.

Post by mistress-samwise » Mon Sep 22, 2003 12:18 pm

More than once, people have commented me on my extraordinarily neat typing on the internet. As you can see, I try to spell as well as I can, in additon to proper grammar and punctuation. As of late, I have tried to cut out most of the emoticons that I am prone to using ( ^___^, ^o^, XD, @___@, ect.) as well as abbreviations ('cause, an', ect.). Except for "ect.". I don't know how to spell that one (Etcetera? Ect cetra?).

Why do I type like this? It's for consideration. And it's a feeble attempt to try to keep the internet a semi-civilized place. Ah, well.

How are you when it comes to typing on the internet? Do you talk the same way you type? And just why is leet easier?

It's "etc.", which is an abbreviation for "et cetera" which is Latin for "and the rest" or "and so forth" or other similar sentiments.

yes...

Personally, unless I'm being sarcastic or intentionally crude, I type in pretty much the same language that I would use for essays. Or talking. To me, it's clear, effective, and intellegent, and probably makes life easier for anyone literate enough to read it...

You spelled "addition" incorrectly. As for me, I structure my sentences better and more correctly than you.

I do type how I speak, generally. And leet-speak is not easier for many people.

Besides my use of abbreviations (for example lol and lmao) and the occasional emoticon I type relatively the same way I speak for generally the same reasons as Otohiko.

I despise l33t or whatever the hell it is.

I always check my posts to make sure I didn't mis-spell a lot, though, unfortunetly some mistakes always seem to slip by.
