Is There Another Great AMV Creator?
I know almost everyone knows about Kevin Caldwell and I must say that he is truly worthy of being called one of the greatest AMV creators, but now what I'm wondering is who else is just as good and coming up to the big time like K.C. and are there any videos that are better than his "Believe" and "Engel"???

What's with the sudden trend of newcomers who are too lazy to watch videos and see for themselves who is good, and instead rely on other people to give them their opinions?
Lots of people make good videos - Kevin Caldwell, Maniac Expressions, Maboroshi Studio, ErMaC, Doki Doki... some people think I'm decent, but don't listen to them. My videos suck.
Now go watch some videos and start to think for yourself, boy.

"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

It's easy enough to look at the Top 10% to get an idea of the good ones, but to expect a newbie to go through all 10,042 AMV's (as of 18 Aug 2002) and form their own opinions is asking a tad much, don'cha think?jbone wrote:"What's with the sudden trend of newcomers who are too lazy to watch videos...?"
Instead, one could simply go to the Forum and ask those more experienced... assuming they don't lash out at you with an hostilty that's becoming the norm among the AMV community.

He wasn't asking them to watch EVERY video that's been made -- nobody would do that. (At least I hope nobody would do that, because that means that that somebody needs more to do.)
The Top 10% is a good way to see what are considered the best. You do miss out on a lot of good videos that way -- there are always creators who are seriously underrated -- but you can still get an idea of what's what. More inquisitive newbies will remain in the community for a while and catch up on gossip. Sometimes an AMV-god(ddess)-in-the-shadows will pop out and just ask for an opinion, in which case the newbie has an opportunity for discovery.
