Don't worry, I don't get offended easily. And I wasn't having a go at you, I was being blunt. I don't like it when people expect me to change my beliefs or keep my mouth shut just because they don't agree with something I have to say. I was letting you know that, thats all.gadoo wrote:just wanted to know...that's all. don't know where you got all that other stuff from.SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:Of what? Moses being a stoner? He had long hair
He dressed in natural fiber clothing
He wore sandals
And the tree was right next to him, green, and burning.
I mean, the first three points make a damning case for his pothead-edness, and the final point is the clincher.
Look, I just don't like religion. I have my reasons and I happen to think they are bloody good. If you wanna get offended when I take the piss out of the bible and religion, be my guest. I won't stop, considering it's your choice to get offended or not and that one point completely removes me from the responsibility for YOUR mood.![]()
I don't want to go jump into any conclusions, but erm if you wanna get offended by what I have to say be my guest. I won't stop, considering it's your choice to get offended or not, and that point you made completely removes me from the responsibilty of your mood to go off ranting about something.
Damn it, we DO need to have a license to breed...

Same here, so I like to see if people can back up their "beliefs". The way I see it, nothing each side can say can be proven, so the arguements just go in circles, making every one wrong or right. That's why arguements on religions are never resolved.SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote: Don't worry, I don't get offended easily. And I wasn't having a go at you, I was being blunt. This could be the first post I make that earns me enemies.
But A) JW's and Mormons aren't real Christians. And I hate saying that, because I don't belong to any sect/denomination, but the tennets of their religion skew away from Biblical tennents. Mormons believe that Christ came to America, and that the founder of the Church of Mormon/Latter Day Saints, whatever you want to call them had a vision and angels showed him this hidden gospel (the Book of Mormon), which was written in an angelic language, which he understood. When he went back to show people where it was, it was gone. Can you spell S.H.A.D.Y.?
Someone told me that Mormons also believe that good mormons are rewarded in the afterlife by God giving them their own world to reign over. I don't know if that part's true. But that would be wierd. Can you imagine living in a world where Julie from Real World New Orleans is your Supreme Being?
Jehovahs Witnesses I think are just as fuckedup. A lot of their teachings are pretty off-the-map. My supervisor is a JW, and he switches into and out of Good Christian Boy mode. And I mean, I go through that, too. But it's like he's got a switch installed.
And people who don't do whatever they can to make their children healthy are not doing the will of god. They are stupid bastards who need to be strapped to the front of a truck and driven into concrete poles.
And Moses may have been a hippie, but Jesus was an anarchist, and one bad motherfucker.

If there are any SERIOUS Christian types on the board, I think we scared them off (not intentionally, mind you). A lot of hardcore sects (oh, pun! Or something) don't think other denominations are "genuine Christians". Heck, fundie Protestants think Catholics are blasphemous and going to hell.
Chick Tracts, for the overall rundown of who is going to hell, why, and how they can avoid it (hint: do bad things and find Jesus)
.
That said, letting faith win out over common sense and medical science is just batshit loony. Religion can be used in conjunction with medical treatment, but no in lieu of it.

for clarification, by definition, a Christian is someone who follows Christ, the leaders of the Church of Latter Day Saints and the Jehovah's Witnesses lead their people away from Christ toward a twisted definition of what they think God should be.
