Apple sues Apple

The Beatles' Apple Corps record label is accusing Apple Computers of souring on a deal.

Apple Corps Ltd., owned by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono and the estate of George Harrison, filed a lawsuit against Apple Computers, accusing the makers of iPods, the iTunes music store and a host of other technological advancements of violating an agreement stating that the computer company would stay out of the music business.

The deal was struck in 1991 to outline the future use of the name and logos. With the launch of iTunes and iPod, the label contends that Apple Computers has gone from RAM and ROM to rap and rock.

"Over a decade ago, Apple signed an agreement with Apple Corps, a business controlled by the Beatles and their heirs, which specified the rights each company would have to use the 'Apple' trademark," read a statement from the computer company. "Unfortunately, Apple and Apple Corps now have differing interpretations of this agreement, and will need to ask a court to resolve this dispute."

Apple Corps Ltd. filed the suit in London's High Court in July, about two months after the launch of iTunes, seeking monetary damages and a judgment to uphold the deal.

The computer company received notice recently.

This news is old.

But nonseriously, APPLES COMPUTER should have just bought them a M*cinto$h brand personal computer and maybe a few other things. Once they switch over from the PCs side, they won't even think of suing!

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are just DELL and GATEWAYS customer.

? that's a he ? . . . ^^ . . doesn't matter, still love that picture ^^

As for the Apple going under thingy it would be ironic for a Steve Job's Law
Suit again ^^ the first most known case was against the Phone Company and
a little tone box that the two Steve's made for making Long Distance phone
calls for free.
Apple has usually tryed to stay ahead of everyone else and be just a little bit
better than the rest; too bad things were not open source programming or
more people would be using Apples instead of PC's :!:

The pc won out because every company in the world bought them because they were made by Ibm Originally. With Ibms name on them they couldn't help but win. Apple lacked the business savy for the corporate world. The mac was primitive anyway compared to the amiga if you want a case of the best man winning then it would be Amiga all the way.
