changing weather effect in amvs is it worth it??
ive been looking at this effect for some time now. ive even tested it in my own amvs to see how it looks. to me changing weather for amvs doesnt look right to me. but id like to know who has successfuly pulled it off. cause when ever i try to put that effect in it just looks stupid. the only weather effect that looked decent was the raining effect. but the rest of the weather effects like snow and such just doesnt look right. so any one who has successfuly pulled it off and it actually looks real?? or is that just a crappy effect to begin with?

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Real nice clouds. Real nice athmospheric effects. Real nice precipitation.
Oh. AMV's? No, I don't suggest that. I haven't tried nor seen it, but I'd definitely recommend you seek out 'natural' weather in the anime and use it in shots. Even if it's just weather - well, just have semi-transparent faces if you want to convey the characters mood. But drawing snow or rain - just don't look very good. There's more to weather than just snowflakes or lens flares.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Well... if you honest to god can't find any clips from the series with that weather ANYWHERE, I'd then go on to another way to get that mood. There are infinite ways to express any given mood, and personally I'm lazy; I'd rather find one that's easier to do and will look good than risk something that's hugely complicated and may end up looking subpar.

hmmm . what you are speaking of would normally be done by the Animators
and not by the Series your re-building into an AMV. hehe. I mean, after all,
"Lightning Strikes as the two have launched their best offensive moves against
each other and the screen goes white - only to reveal a frizzeled-out kitten
slowly falling on its side from the sitting position" is quite possibly Not what
the Series Director had in mind for a TKO T_T
I'd say that changing the Weather or any other part of the scene is not a very
good idea - unless UNLESS you have to make THAT possible to design a concept!
