Hey, do most folks start with a song and find an anime to match, vice versa, even split, or find combos at the same time?

There's too many songs for me to go through when i need to look for one in particular, so instead, i listen to a song and let images come to my mind.

It depends. If there's an anime that I'd really like to use, I'll search for a song that would work, and vice-versa. So far though, my videos have come from concepts that came to mind when listening to music. I'll be thinking about the lyrics and sometimes they happen to remind me of a series. But that's not the case with a video I hope to make in the near future; I had the concept in mind and looked for a song that could make it work. So to me, it doesn't really matter which comes first.

i think the best way to make something original is to listen songs and to wait the inspirtion and let te images come to the mind(as lyrs says)

Usuallt it's a song.

I mean, I go into everday life, ever thinking of anything, and then I hear a song on the radio and BAM-- It's like a little voice screams "Make a music video to this using blah blah!"

Yeah, stupid.. But it works.

My view on it is if you have a song or anime you want to use, but then have to go out LOOKING for the other element of that combo... You don't have an idea.

i usually pick an idea first...then choose the anime, and then the song...

every once in a while i'll hear a song and just HAVE to make a video to it..i have a huge backlist of must make videos ;( i should get workin lol

The song and anime find you. At least that's how I edit. When I actively go out to find something, it turns out to be crap (*cough* Evolution *cough*). I don't make a concerted effort to find something for a video. I just listen to a lot of music and once in awhile a song and anime combination clicks, I see some scenes and I start from there.

Everyone's different.

I also start with the music... though I've only done three videos so far, so probably no one cares about what I have to say about starting points.
