my comp runs scan disk nomatter what i do

well i dont know were the hell to put this but seeing as it is a really topic and it really dosnt fit in anyother forum ill put it here. i have win xp home and well the problem is everytime i turn on my comp it trys to run scan disk. wtf is going on?!

isn't it in the scan disk options? or task scheduler, etc? you probably have it set to run everytime you turn your comp on, just turn it off

nope i checked that. also my comp cant run scheduled tasks for some reason. it just refuses them.

Hmm this sounds like a case of double windows. Sometimes even windows gets so fed up with itself it just stops trying..

all i can suggest is virus checking or if that fails a blank and reload.

yea i dont have a any viruses and im really trying to avoid fdisk anyone else have any ideas?

Go through the "scheduling" again. Check also scandisk to see if it has auto-scan.

and lastly, make sure you don't have a problem while you are shutting down. windows will automatically run scandisk if the computer fails to shutdown properly. makesure you aren't using a "shutdown" shortcut such as a macro or program because it may be them.

if that doesn't work, run a full system scandisk. most likely the scandisk itself will find a problem and you can then fix the problem.
