I think the world is over-populated in general, and I think if you think American policy for immigration suks, look at Canada... and oh wait this is a political thread...

How was it that said a nation that doesn't control its boarders won't be a nation for long?
Anyway, the US is not really overpopulated as we've had close to zero population growth for a long time. It's a good reason to help get poorer nation's economies working again, as the trend seems to be the more prosperous a nation, the less their population grows.

The main problem is that we as a country have never declared and official language, and now that there are enough immigrants mainland it would be impossible to get English set as our one and only. The thought was equal opportunities for all, but just like socialism a good premise that people abuse and misuse. The best we can hope for at this point is a 50/50 Enlish::Spanish For that you can thank our fucking Forefathers! If there were only 2 or 3 we would have been much better off, I mean if 3 Men can raise a baby, I’m sure they could have done a country up right.Mroni wrote:Spanish is not the language of america english is. People that speak spanish and don't learn english are part of the immigration problem. Ditto add that to law that english be the official language of the united states of america.

Ok Mr Pilk I have to disagree with you on this one. The number of spanish speaking people in the Us is not a fraction of the amount speaking english and not all immigrants are trying not to learn english anyway. So getting a law passed would not be hard at all. The toughest opposition to such a law anyway would be from the established cliche of leftist and liberals in the goverment and illegal immigrants not citisens.

How true, but it is the will of some idiot folks that we all be Bilingual. I am not saying that the spanish-speeking residents out number English, I am more or less referring to this premonition a vast majority of people today have, that it is our duty to learn every language on earth, and welcome our migrants be what ever origin they are. But I do fear, just by my experiences as of late, that there is a deliberate action being taken by migrant/nonimmigrant Spanish peeking population to out reproduce the majority rule. I am merely upset that you come to my country, fail to learn the language, but still have enough say to get laws passed so that illegal migrants of your('s and your alone) nationality can obtain full legal driving privileges. And yes here in Georgia there is a law being passed as we speak to allow illegal aliens a valid driver’s license. That is wrong, plain and simple. What next? Voting rights!? Where is the point in becoming a full LEGAL citizen if you are already give the same rights as the rest of us? For give the rant but my dealings in retail have left me quite cynical and rude. I can't stand when some one walks up to me, demanding service, but refuses to negotiate with me because he/she doesn’t' feel like learning said language. If I were traveling to another country, let alone seeking citizenship, I would make damn sure to lean the language! I would be dumb to go to Italy and expect that entire country to change its ways and learn English just so I could communicate. This is why I move that a national language be set, to prevent a bilingual system. English is hard enough to master, but having to learn 2?! Our schools systems can master English as it is, then throw on Calculus and geography, exc. And with the average IQ in this country dropping ever lower, there is no way this will work. The number of spanish speaking people in the Us is not a fraction of the amount speaking english

Plus other countries are starting to get sick of the english speakers going to their countries and expecting the natives to know the whole english language, trust me, i live in spain for about 2 months every year and they, in general, get pretty pissed off with english only speakers.
I think everyone should know english and spanish bcuz they are the two most used languages and more or less everyone would be able to communicate then.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

If I was going to go to spain I would try to learn some spanish before I went there and Im talking about as a tourist. If I was intending to be a resident of spain I would damn well learn the language before I tried. But I don't live in spain I live in the Usa and I shouldn't have to know anything other than english.

That is a separate scenario all together, and even goes to exemplify my point. It is just plain ignorant to expect every to learn a language just so you can communicate. I'm not saying I have no desire to be bilingual, infact I have all the intention in the world of learning Japanese eventually. But to expect it of us is asinine. My highschool/colleges required it, yet didn't bother teach either of the two languages I really wanted and was promise. Those two being Latin and Japanese. But that is beside the point, Latin was merely for bragging rights and dominance. Japanese was so I may travel one day.
So what you are saying is that you would go out of your way learn a language so that you may travel, but that we a country should also learn said language so that folks visit can speak one-on-one with out hassle too? No who’s being an idiot? Well by god, then why don’t' we just rename the entire country "Hilton" and invite everyone any time day or night and sever them a complementary breakfast firs thing in the morning?
I rest my case.
