You do realize that 'surprises in store for everyone' could well mean a Ninja Garden promo video...

Couldn't be much worse than the Ninja Garden Banner my "friends" are making for ACen next year thanks to Doki's photoshopping.

Somebody who knows all that stuff can fill you in; I have a horrible head for names. I just remember that it was done in 1981 or so, with Macross and the Beatles' "All You Need Is Love."
You are right for the most part but I do believe if I recall correctly it was 1983. Since I think he said it was a 20 year anniversary of making amv's. Or something like that. But I do agree with you on the video.
1981, Quu has it on his Waldo archive.

Rawk! I hadn't heard about this- that'll be funny. Of course, if I end up the challenger I'll be a considerable cheering section disadvantage, but I think the humor factor will be worth it...

hmmm . . T_T . . I feel old now !!!

The first Recorded AMV's and being so labeled an AMV came from two places
within a year of each other:
1) Tommy Roe ( AKA - The Archies: Sugar Sugar ) 8)
2) Supremes - you just keep me hangin' on :P

These two started it, but it failed to "catch on" because VCR's were not available
at a price that anyone could afford yet!

The first Music Television was "The Monkees" - although they didn't intend to
make it THAT kind of TV show; that's what it became known as T_T
