There should be a software controlled setting for 525 ( NTSC ) -or- 625 ( PAL )
which will allow you to capture from your VCR by either YV Cable ( not recomended )
or via the Video and Audio out-s of your VCR to the Composite in of your capture card.

If your Capture Card is out of date, there will be a "jumper" for these two settings 8)

oh ^^ . . ok . then your VCR should have a connection that goes to your TV set; use it and Channel 3 or 4 to your capture card ^^

an ariel is a whip-antenna
8) ( sometimes thought of as a large metal coat hanger - streached out )

Aerial = Antenna
Pay TV / Foxtel / OptusVision = Cable

This should work...

Take the coax cable from the TV and plug it in to the back of your VCR (the coax cable is the one you should be using to connect from TV to TV tuner) and then put the TV capture software (PowerVCR in my case) to composite or coax, which it should already be at, and channel 3 or 4, then run the VCR.
