My Problem with Mrs. McBride-Wyatt is she doesn't seem to know what she is talking about. TV shows don't get rated R The TV Ratings System is as follows:

TV-Y
TV-Y7
TV-G
TV-PG
TV-14
TV-MA

Ok Then she has an E-Mail Address cartooncomments@turner.com Where does she think it goes? Limbo? No It goes to a PERSON. ALSO adultswim.com has a MESSAGE BOARD, and on that MESSAGE BOARD, you can contact HUMANS! Wow, what a concept!

Now something else I don't get is why she said Scooby Doo was ok? You are watching Stoners with Eating Disorders sticking their noses where they don't belong. And the only intellegent person is treated like shit. But I digress...

Ok Now about the Ratings System:
TV-PG (Parental Guidance SuggestedThis program contains material that parents may find unsuitable for younger children.)

Many parents may want to watch it with their younger children. The theme itself may call for parental guidance and/or the program contains one or more of the following: moderate violence (V), some sexual situations (S), infrequent coarse language (L), or some suggestive dialogue (D).

TV-14 (Parents Strongly Cautioned This program contains some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age.)

Parents are strongly urged to exercise greater care in monitoring this program and are cautioned against letting children under the age of 14 watch unattended. This program contains one or more of the following: intense violence (V), intense sexual situations (S), strong coarse language (L), or intensely suggestive dialogue (D).
Seeing as there really isn't that much L and there really isn't that much V and there is a little bit of S I can see why Fooly Cooly qualifies for a PG Rating. If anything deserves PG-14 it's Family Guy. You guys have watched that show right? If you have then you know what I'm talking about.

Now I don't want to pry into their parenting Tatics, but if they are worried about their kids watching TV past midnight... Then there is something wrong.

And did I miss something? When did the kids blow a guys brains out? X-Men Evolution has a great deal of violence. Cities being destroyed, lots of Explosions, acttacks on Police by the good guys.... And yet it is only rated Y-7. Dragon Ball Z is Rated Y-7 and they do blow peoples heads off in that show. or did you forget when Trunks sliced up freeze into a hundred pieces and vaporized them.

Lets just go over Y-7
TV-Y7 (Directed to Older Children This program is designed for children age 7 and above.)

It may be more appropriate for children who have acquired the developmental skills needed to distinguish between make-believe and reality. Themes and elements in this program may include mild fantasy or comedic violence, or may frighten children under the age of 7. Therefore, parents may wish to consider the suitability of this program for their very young children.
Yeah but Blowing of Limbs is only a Y-7? WOW. And yet she complains about a show that Runs at midnight?

The original Cartoons made by Warner Brothers weren't made for kids. Cartoons were made for ADULTS! Japanese Animation (A.K.A. Japanimation A.K.A. Anime) actually markets a lot towards ADULTS. Because they make money this way (what a concept). So to put this show in the programming block called ADULT SWIM makes perfect since. You aren't going to agree with the content of everyshow. Ren and Stimpy was rated Y-7, but did you ever watch that show?

Here is the interesting thing about the ratings system no one seems to get. You can have a shit load of violence and get a PG rating But the First time you say FUCK it's boosted up to an R. That was the whole Message of the South Park Movie. (yeah I used the MPAA rating system because I'm cool like that.) Hell you can show Breasts and only get a PG-13 Rating.

I could keep going on but I'm sure you are all sick of me now. Because I R THE MASTERDEBATOR. Yes I like that joke. it makes me laugh. Oh and yeah I do have too much free time on my hands.

FLCL is FULL of extreme sexual innuendo's, far more than the Simpsons have. You also don't see as many bare naked asses on the simpsons than you do on FLCL.

FLCL should be rated PG-13 AT LEAST. It definatly has no place on CN.
Just to piss that dumbass parent off I would (if I was CN) take the FLCL off and put on Genocyber for one night.

Damn! Seriously now, alot of good points were made here but who get to hear them beside us? Let me point out some unpleasant facts:
1)There are more ''soccer mum'' types then anime fans
2)53 percent of anime fans are under voting age (18)
3)If I am not mistaken 3 states In USA signed a law to stop the sale of games and films WITH ELEMENTS OF VIOLENCE (like say Flashpoint or matrix) to people under 18
4)Germany completely BANNED the sale of violent fps(first person shooters) like doom 2 and Soldiers of fortune (although their porn limit is only 16!)
5)If you think this is off topic replace the word game with [insert name of your anime series here] :?
Unfortunately things said here on amv only stay on amv. Now if somebody bothered to reply to that e-mail and tell her half of what was said here perhaps we still have a chance to save our beloved hobby. I am personaly willing to back up such action.

This message needs to be emailed to those parents, and i am very serious in saying so. Another thing i wanted to add tho.

Distuingish between REALALITY AND MAKE-BELIEVE.

Her kids are well over 7 so they should NOT have a problem with this!
