Get yourself Virtualdub: you will have the option of saving the file as a sequence of bitmaps

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

If you happen to have Ulead's PhotoImpact, you can use the GIF Animator tool to save a clip as a series of picture files. (GIF Animator is also sold separately.)
First, launch GIF Animator and open a video file (I use AVI files; don't know if it will handle MPEGs). Then select File-Save As-Image Frames.
You get a choice of either PNG or JPG. If you need GIFs, you can use PhotoImpact to do a block file conversion (select File-Batch Convert).
If you don't have PI, I wouldn't buy it just for this feature. VirtualDub is freeware. I haven't used it, but if turboneko says it works, that's good enough for me.

in a separate folder..turboneko wrote:Get yourself Virtualdub: you will have the option of saving the file as a sequence of bitmaps
And then use Adobe Image Ready...!
File -> Import -> Folder As Frames(the folder you exported the bmp files) and there you have it!
