Is non-anime footage allowed?

Post by DriftRoots » Fri Aug 29, 2003 12:20 pm

Very simple question that I've seen somewhat answered elsewhere, but never straight-out.

I do not like the idea of AMV's with non-anime footage (whatever that may be) because it opens the door to an enormous amount of "non-kosher AMVs" [which, after all, is what we're all here to avoid). With an AMV idea in mind for using some of my own digital footage (very tiny amounts), I am wondering if it would be ok for me to turn this real-time footage into animation, or at least stylize it to the point where it no longer resembles a digital capture. I won't be crushed by resounding "NO's" either, so don't worry about hurting my feelings. I don't anticipate this idea is going to go over well.

It's your vision, put in anything you like.

This site focuses on video celebrations of anime fandom- if that's what it is then it will fit right in.

All depends on what you want the video to be. If it looks good to you then go for it, if not then hide your shame. :)
It's cold and dark ... Perfect!
