How about I remake Euphoria with DBZ footage?mexicanjunior wrote:Ummmm...huh?NicholasDWolfwood wrote:Fame is nothing.
People in this community who are well known are nothing more than the "shitty" editors.
Put it this way.
Most people see me as a fat 11 year old kid who can't make an AMV for his life. What if before Koop even got the idea for Euphoria, I made the same exact video? I'd still be nothing. But yet, Koop makes Euphoria and he get's all the worshiping you could ever imagine. I think that's wrong. I dunno about you guys, but I don't like being treated as a non-existant moron.
So, take my point seriously. It's not right for me if I had made Euphoria the same way as Koop before Koop got the idea to still be treated as a lousy editor, but then Koop comes along and makes Euphoria and get's all the worshiping you could fit onto a 2,000ft pole.
Think about that.

If you made good videos, and acted like a jerk. You will still be treated like a jerk.

I'm still not seeing the 'being well known'='shitty editor' part, but whatever.
If you had made a Euphoria, maybe things would be different. You'd probably be hailed as some kind of prodigy in the field of AMVs. But, as we all know, you didn't come up with a Euphoria (yet), so it's a moot point to say if you had made it people wouldn't have cared, because you honestly can't know that.
I think the two things you're trying to connect here are in reality quite separate. How good your AMVs are doesn't change the type of person you are. Sammy made Excalibur, but a lot of people around here could tell you what kind of person he was. The fact is that you act, and have acted, like an asshole to a lot of people on the org. I'm not one of those people, but I have still seen the curse-filled flames you spew at people over any number of things ranging from a typo to (god forbid) a mistake.
More often than not, you do know what you're talking about (especially on the A/V tech end) so I'm not trying to say you can't correct someone if they're wrong. I'm just saying you need to learn some tact in doing so. You probably know a lot more about this type of thing than people twice your age do, but that's not a license to act like an ass.
I can say I dislike how you treat others, but I can't say I dislike you. You've never done anything to me, and if I really thought you were an asshole with no hope of ever changing, I wouldn't be wasting my time writing this.
Being nice can go a long way. And in the long run it'll get you more respect than making a great AMV ever would.
People tend not to remember your videos if all they think of when you name comes up is, 'that guy was such an dick'.
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.
And lighten up.
Get over it.
And lighten up.

Fame...
What the hell is that? Disturbed people contacting you and screwing with your head.
Had those, glad to get rid of them. I prefer darkness then light.
Fame can be a real pain in the ass, there are lotsa disturbed people who would need a doctor real bad. (mayby i would need one too...) Don't answer.
Eyecandy is not mindcandy. Real soul is hidden in the lyrics.

Fame is great. Fame is awesome. You people need to quit hating on it.
Whats so inherintly wrong if tons of people love someones videos? You can dissagree with the crowd all you want, but things are popular for a reason.
Do I want people in Best Buy to stop me while I'm looking for anime and say "OMFW its BEOWULF of Hypeodermic Studos fame!" Negative. Do I want tons of people to enjoy my work? Of course.
To openly say you dont want people to enjoy your work is stupid. I'd like to be popular. Everyone does. Do I want it so bad it affects what I make? Nope.
