The MPAA is so full of...

Post by KungPaoChicken » Tue Aug 12, 2003 11:14 pm

SHIT.

Have you seen their new wave of anti-piracy ads designed to tug at the heart strings of evil piraters everywhere?

They claim that piracy doesn't hurt the people who make the big money, but instead all the poor people who make the movies possible, like the set designers, the costume makers, etc. Pirating the movie supposedly = less profit which in turn = less money for these poor, bottom-of-the-rung people.

BOOHOOHOO.

Genius. Except for the fact that BY THE TIME THE MOVIE COMES OUT SAID INDIVIDUALS HAVE ALREADY BEEN PAID AND ARE WELL ON THEIR WAY TO THEIR NEXT JOBS.

Piracy hurts the end-profits. meaning those people who make the big bucks.

good job MPAA. now you're a dick. brownie-flavored.

The movie ticket sales is what makes the money for the production company, who puts out the millions of dollars to pay all the set designers, animators, special-effects guys, etc. Without movie ticket sales, and the sales of VHS and DVD copies of the film once it comes out, the production company won't make a profit, and the workers won't get paid!

Piracy of films/tv shows/music robs people of their income, and slowly destroys our economy. Look at China! Everyone pirates software, music, videos, etc from the Japanese, us, the Europeans, and even themselves! Their economy is so shot to hell, if they didn't have their corrupt under-the-table deals and bribes, their country would've fallen apart just five years after the Cultural Revolution. Stealing is all they're good at, and is the only means for that country to function.
